چکیده

QT dispersion is defined as the difference between the maximum QT and minimum QT intervals on standard 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG). It is a new index of the homogeneity of ventricular repolarization and considered to be a marker for the risk of malignant ventricular arrhythmia [1, 2]. There have been, however, no detailed studies except in myocardial infarction on QT dispersion using magnetocardiogram (MCG) [3]. The MCG can detect cardiac electric currents with high positional resolution compared to the ECG, which detects the electrical difference in electrical potential [4]. In addition, the location of the source of the electric current can be non-invasively determined by MCG [4]. In the present study, QT dispersions in patients with left or right ventricular hypertrophy were studied using the MCG.

Effect of coronary artery bypass on QT dispersion

Introduction: QT dispersion (QT Max – QT min) reflects inhomogeneous ventricular depolarization that may provide a substrate for serious arrythmias and is associated with adverse clinical outcomes in patients with coronary artery disease. Some studies have shown reduction in QT dispersion after successful angioplasty due to coronary reperfusion, but effect of coronary artery bypass grafting o...

QT interval dispersion in chronic heart failure and left ventricular hypertrophy: relation to autonomic nervous system and Holter tape abnormalities.

OBJECTIVE To study QT dispersion in left ventricular hypertrophy and chronic heart failure and to determine the relation to ventricular arrhythmias. SETTING Investigational laboratory of a tertiary referral centre. STUDY DESIGN Patients with left ventricular hypertrophy and normal systolic function (n = 14) and patients with chronic heart failure (n = 18) were matched with controls (n = 17)...

Influence of the left ventricular types on QT intervals in hypertensive patients

OBJECTIVE To investigate the possible electrophysiological background of the greater excitability of concentric and eccentric left ventricular hypertrophy types in relation to the asymmetric type. METHODS 187 patients with essential hypertension, without ishaemic heart disease were divided into three groups with regard to left ventricule type: concentric (relative wall thickness >0.42, interv...

QT-Dispersion as a potential marker in prognosis of acute myocardial infarction

Introduction: QT dispersion in a 12 lead ECG represents the heterogeneity of ventricular repolarization. The prolongation of QT-interval dispersion increases the risk of coronary heart disease, ventricular arrhythmia, and sudden cardiac death in patients with myocardial infarction. We aimed to investigate the prognostic value of QT-dispersion in patients with acute myocardial infarction. Meth...

The impact of chronic hemodialysis on QT dispersion corrected QTdispersion and maximum QT-dispersion

Introduction: Sudden cardiac death is common in patients on hemodialysis and may occur in the immediate postdialysis period when ventricular premature complexes are common. QT dispersion reflecting hetovogelity in ventricle repolarization has been used for predicting patients with risk of malignant arrhythmia and sudden death. The purpose of the study was to assess the effect of hemodialysis on...
